A growing share of car shopping now starts in a conversation with an AI assistant rather than a search results page. "What SUVs can I get for around $450 a month near me?" is a question a shopper now expects a direct answer to – not ten blue links.
Dealer websites were built for a crawler that indexes pages. AI agents don't want pages; they want structured, trustworthy facts they can reason about. Most dealer inventory is effectively invisible to them, and the payment data – the part shoppers are actually asking about – is invisible in every case, because it only exists inside a calculator that runs in a browser.

Where it's going
AXIS is the newest and least settled thing we're building, and we're developing it in close partnership with the dealers using it. The shape of AI shopping is changing every few months; we'd rather build this with a small group in the open than guess at it alone.
